Baltimore Ravens franchise linebacker-defensive end Terrell Suggs plans to end his holdout over the weekend and will report to the team Sunday, a source confirmed Friday.
Suggs will sign an $8.5 million franchise tender Sunday, and he's already talked to the team about getting ready to play for the Ravens' third preseason game, against the St. Louis Rams next week.
Suggs has agreed to play this season at the $8.5 million tender and won't ask for any condition in the deal that will prevent the Ravens from franchising him next season. He is scheduled to be a free agent after the season.
The plan for Suggs is to practice at the team facility next week and play about 15 snaps against the Rams. He will rest for the fourth preseason game, a source said Friday.
Suggs was franchised as a linebacker but challenged the Ravens in a grievance, contending he played more snaps at defensive end last season than he did at linebacker.
The Ravens and Suggs reached an agreement that allowed the franchise number to be the difference between the top-five number at defensive end and linebacker, which increased his tender to $8.5 million.
Suggs decided to end his holdout because he wanted to have a week of practice before a preseason game, and then take part in one preseason game. The 25-year-old Suggs has 45 sacks in his first five seasons with the Ravens
